In December 2019, Australia was experiencing one of its worst bushfire seasons on record, with widespread public anger over the federal government's perceived inaction on climate change. Prime Minister Scott Morrison faced intense criticism for downplaying the link between the fires and climate policy, and for holidaying in Hawaii during the crisis. Extinction Rebellion Australia organized a series of protests to raise awareness about climate change and demand action from governments. I documented the events outside Sydney Town Hall and conditions above Sydney Harbour at the time.
